Puppies.com Listing Guidelines

To ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all users, we've developed these listing guidelines in order to provide potential buyers with comprehensive and transparent information about your available dog(s). By following these guidelines, you'll create listings that stand out, build trust and transparency with buyers, and ultimately work towards finding loving forever homes for your beloved pups.

  1. “Non-Puppy” listings (i.e. listings which do not advertise a dog for sale) are prohibited. This includes (but is not limited to) the following:
    1. Stud Service listings, which advertise breeding services.
    2. Want Ads, which are created in search of a specific type of dog.
    3. “Beware” listings, created to air grievances with another individual.
  2. “Planned Breeding” listings are prohibited (“Planned breeding” listings refer to listings created to advertise an upcoming breeding which has not taken place).
    1. However, “unborn litter” listings are permitted, provided that 1) the breeding has been confirmed, and 2) the expected birth date falls within 60 days and is posted within the “birth date” section of the listing.
  3. “Duplicate Listings” are prohibited. Each dog may be listed once, through one account only.
  4. “Multiple Puppy/Litter” listings are prohibited. Each available dog needs to be listed individually within a single dedicated listing. We do not permit multiple dogs (or entire litters) to be listed collectively within a listing.
  5. “Sold Listings” are prohibited. Each “For Sale” listing needs to advertise a single dog which is still available for sale. If a dog has been spoken for but the transaction hasn’t been finalized, the listing should be marked as “On Hold”. If the dog has been fully sold, the listing should be marked as “Sold”. Instructions for marking a listing as “On Hold” or “Sold” are available here
  6. “Wolf Hybrid” listings are prohibited. At this time, we do not permit wolf hybrids (i.e. dogs with any wolf/timberwolf content) to be listed for sale on Puppies.com.
  7. Accurate breed information is required. We ask that sellers place each listing into the breed category/categories which accurately reflects the breed of the dog.
    1. If we offer a single breed category which accurately reflects the breed of the dog, that breed will need to be provided in the “Breed” field within the listing.
    2. If your dogs are not purebred and we don't offer a dedicated breed category for the mix, we do require that you enter both breeds which make up the dog’s parentage within the listing. (For example: if a dog is an English Bulldog/Beagle mix, one breed (English Bulldog or Beagle) should be entered in the “Breed” section of the listing, while the other should be displayed in the “Mixed With” section of the listing). This will help the listing show up in appropriate search results and clearly indicate to buyers that the dog is a designer breed dog instead of a purebred dog.
  8. All advertised dogs must be located in the United States or in US territories. Due to a number of factors, Puppies.com has recently made the decision to only permit Sellers from the United States to list puppies for sale.
