How do I list a puppy?
All new Puppies.com accounts are automatically set up with Buyer privileges, allowing you to search for dogs and message members to find your perfect puppy. Once you are ready to use the site as a Seller, simply create your first listing to begin advertising dogs you have for sale.
Make sure to review our Listing Guidelines before you proceed. Also, before you create your first listing, please know that you may only advertise dogs that you personally own and that are currently in your personal possession. This ensures a transparent and safe experience for everyone on Puppies.com.

Troubleshooting Common Errors

- Setting a breed: In order to set a breed, type the breed in the Breed field and click the correct result in the dropdown menu below to create a teal "Breed Tag":
- Setting a second breed: once you've entered one breed, a Second breed, if mixed field will appear. To set a second breed to indicate that your dog is a mix of the two breeds selected, enter the breed in the Second breed field, and click to select the correct breed below:
Once you've created your first listing, you'll be free to create additional listings: accounts with a Standard Membership (or a three-day trial) can post up to 20 listings at a time, while accounts with a Premier Membership can post up to 40 listings at a time.

Final Tips
To capture a buyer’s attention and manage your sales effectively, keep these final tips in mind:
- Prioritize Photo Quality: Use high-resolution, well-lit photos. Your Main Photo should be a clear shot of the individual puppy looking toward the camera without littermates in the frame. If the dog is too young for a good individual photo, simply crop a litter photo using the instructions above to show the dog the listing advertises only.
- Be Detailed: Describe the puppy’s personality and temperament. The more information you provide upfront, the more confident buyers will feel reaching out to you. Think about what makes your dog stand out...include information that can help the buyer form a bond with the dog immediately.
- Be Transparent: Clearly state your shipping, delivery, or pickup policies so buyers know exactly what to expect. This helps to avoid any confusion down the road. The clearer you are upfront, the fewer questions you'll have to answer later.
-
Keep Listings Current: To provide a great experience, update your listings as soon as things change. Mark a listing as On Hold once you’ve received a deposit or reserved a dog for a buyer, and mark it as Sold once the puppy is in the buyer's possession and the sale is complete. Check out Editing and Managing your Listings for instructions.
