Editing and Managing your Listings

Keeping your listings current is one of the best ways to build trust with potential buyers and improve your sales. Accurate, up-to-date listings show buyers you are a responsive and professional seller, while also saving you time by filtering out inquiries for puppies that are already spoken for.

Make sure to review Puppies.com Listing Guidelines to ensure your listings are in compliance.

To Edit a Listing:

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Navigate to My Listings (found at the top your account on Desktop/Laptop, or through the Menu icon on Mobile).
  3. Click the Edit button next to the puppy you wish to update.
  4. Modify your information and click Save Listing at the bottom of the page.

Troubleshooting Common Errors

If the page doesn't save, look for fields highlighted in red. Common fixes include:

  • Prices: Enter numbers only. Do not include dollar signs, commas, or periods (e.g., enter 1200, not $1,200.00).
  • Required Fields: Ensure all fields marked with an asterisk (***) are filled.
  • Breed Tags: In order to set a breed, type the breed and click the correct result in the dropdown menu below to create a teal "Breed Tag":

  • Two Breeds can be added by setting two "breed tags" through the "Breed" field. Again, type each breed in the field, and click the appropriate result in the dropdown below:

Understanding Listing Statuses

Using the correct status helps keep your listings organized and prevents outdated listings from being presented to potential buyers. Three listing statuses are available:

  • For Sale: The default status. Your listing is active and visible to all buyers in search results.
  • On Hold: Use this when you have a pending sale or have received a deposit. You can move a held listing back to "For Sale" at any time.
  • Sold: Use this only when the puppy is in the buyer's possession and the sale is finalized.
    • Note: Marking a listing as "Sold" is permanent and cannot be undone.

To Change a Listing Status:

You can update a status in two places:

From your My Listings Page:

  1. Locate the listing and click the Listing Status Dropdown (usually defaulted to "For Sale").
  2. Select your desired status (On Hold or Sold).
  3. If marking as Sold, you will be prompted to select the buyer from your message history to send them a testimonial request. If the buyer was found elsewhere, select "Someone Else."

From the Message Center: While chatting with a specific buyer, you can change the status using the dropdown menu located at the top of the conversation window.

If you need to remove the listing entirely, you can delete it instead of marking it as Sold.

To Delete a Listing:

  1. From your My Listings page, click Edit next to the listing you wish to delete.
  2. Scroll to the very bottom of the page.
  3. Click the Delete Listing link.
    • Warning: Deleting a listing is permanent and removes all associated data.
