How do I Block a User?

If you wish to cease communication with another user after receiving a message from them through the Message Center, you can use the Block option to prevent further contact.

If you choose to block another user, your existing conversation(s) with them will be archived, you won't be able to message them moving forward, and they won't be able to message you moving forward. Blocking another user cannot be undone, so make sure you are absolutely certain you wish to prevent all further contact before taking this action.

To Block a User:


  • Open your conversation with the person you’d like to block in your Message Center.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the conversation and click Block.
  • Choose the reason you’re blocking them: Inappropriate Content, Spam Messages, Suspicious/Scammer Account, Abusive/Harassing Messages, or No Further Contact Desired.
  • Click Continue.
  • You're presented with a final warning that Blocking cannot be undone. Click Confirm to permanently block the user.

Please Note:

  • Once you block another user, your existing conversation thread with them is automatically Archived. The messages in the conversation can be viewed, but there’s no option to respond, and the “Unarchive” button is greyed out and cannot be used.
  • If a Seller blocks a previous Buyer, this does not prevent the Buyer from leaving a Testimonial regarding their experience. The Buyer can leave a Testimonial by locating the seller's profile (which is often available through other listings they have posted), and clicking the Leave a Testimonial link.
  • If you wish to report suspicious activity to our Support Team, it's more efficient to use the Report option instead of the Block option. Check out How do I Report a User or Message? for more information.
