Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

At Puppies.com, the safety of our community is our top priority. To prevent unauthorized access and protect your personal information, we have introduced Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Think of this as an extra deadbolt on your front door: it ensures that even if someone gets hold of your password, they still can't get into your account.

What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-factor authentication is a security step that confirms itโ€™s really you trying to log in. When you sign in from a new device, we will ask you to enter a unique 6-digit verification code that only you can access via your personal phone or email. You won't be required to do so every time you sign in, only when we need to verify that you are the owner of the account.

๐Ÿ›‘IMPORTANT: PROTECT YOUR CODE๐Ÿ›‘

Never share your 6-digit verification code with anyone. Providing this code to someone else is like handing them the keys to your home's deadbolt.

  • Puppies.com Support will NEVER ask you for this code.
  • If someone claiming to be from our team or a potential buyer asks for your code, do not give it to them. They are likely trying to hijack your account.

How to Complete Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Choose Your Method: You will see three options to receive your code:
    • Text me a code: A text message will be sent to your verified phone number.
    • Call me with a code: You will receive an automated phone call that reads the code aloud.
    • Email me a code: A code will be sent to your verified email address.
  2. Request the Code: Select your preferred method and click the blue "Send Verification Code" button.

Check Your Device: Open your text messages, answer your phone, or check your email inbox.

    • Note: The code is only valid for 10 minutes. If you wait longer than that, you will need to request a new one.
  3. Enter the Code: Type the 6-digit code into the box on the Puppies.com screen.
  4. Verify: Click "Verify Code" to finish logging in.

Frequently Asked Questions

I didn't receive my code. What should I do?

  • Wait a moment: Delivery can sometimes take a minute or two.
  • Check Spam: If using email, check your "Junk" or "Spam" folder.
  • Use the newest code: If you clicked "Resend," the older codes will stop working immediately. Only the most recent 6-digit code is valid.
  • Identify the sender: The text or call might come from a number you don't recognize. If you just requested a code, it is safe to answer.

What if I no longer have access to the phone number listed? If the phone number we have on file is old or incorrect, click the "Contact Support" link located at the bottom of the verification screen. Our team will help you verify your identity and update your information.

Why do I have to do this? Weโ€™ve implemented this to prevent scammers from accessing your account without your permission. By requiring a code from your physical phone or private email, we make it nearly impossible for hackers to take over your account, keeping your listings and data safe.
